Stonecroft Old Vine Chardonnay 2009 Hawke's Bay 95/ 5 stars
A glorious expression of the variety exhibiting stonefruit, roasted cashew, cream and gently infused vanillin oak characters. The palate is concentrated and focused showing a rounded mouthfeel and layers of texture leading to a superbly long, expansive finish. It's seamless, beautifully poised and perfectly framed, and needs time to evolve into an awe-inspiring wine. At its best: 2012 to 2020.
